P-is-for-Pulapanzak: Waterfalls for your visit to Honduras? I know just the place! It takes some time to get used to saying the name but after some practice, plus some time there visiting I know you will be able to say it…..Pul-a-pan-zak.
This cascada is located about 30 minutes north of Lake Yojoa in the Department of Cortés. From where I live in Catacamas it takes about 6 ½ hours to arrive. It is well worth the trip and the dramamine I have to take.

L-is-for-Loro: A Spanish word for parrot which covers many different species bringing a wide variety of wonderful colors and beauty. Meet a part of the Family – Coco the lorito.
Coco is a green parakeet native here. They can be found from Mexico to northern Nicaragua, but have also been found making parts of southeast Texas home. You can usually find them in the mountains. May is the best time to find a young lorito.

Growing up in the USA we learn both the English and Metric systems in school. The big difference – using one and knowing about the other.

“Cuanto cuesta? How much does the rice cost?” I ask. I am told 10 Lempiras a pound. In the Honduran market place you try to barter down, but lately it’s getting much harder. Just like U.S. prices have gone up, it has here as well.
