I-is-for-Iguanas: A Water Oasis

April 10, 2014 By Rikaine 5 Comments

Iguanas I-is-for-Iguanas: The water park not the lizard.  This past Sunday we spent the day at the pool.  The sun was shining and the water inviting!  Plus the food was amazing – I love fish!  It was a day well spent.

We searched for our suits, towels, and of course the sun screen. Packed everything up and jumped in the truck. Family time was just beginning. Iguanas is only about 10 minutes from home.  Since it’s so close we can make a day of it and not worry about a long drive back.

When we arrived we paid the entrance fee of Lps. 70 for adults (3 of us) and Lps. 40 for kids (the other 2).  The grand total was about $14 for the 5 of us.  We don’t do this often since the river is free, but every once in a while it’s nice to relax in a water oasis.

We arrived about 11am and left about 5pm.  Thank goodness we used our sun block otherwise we would have all looked like red lobsters.  When arriving we soon realized we weren’t the only ones with the great idea of spending time at the pool.

We found a table and chairs that were located under a canopy.  Locked up our important items. Then we dove in!  How refreshing was the water.  It has been low 90’s with the humidity hanging around 50-60% for days.  The heat can make you go crazy and since we don’t have air conditioning we needed to make the refreshing pool time lastIguanas1.

Lunch was fantastic!  Two of my daughters had fried chicken with french fries.  The rest of us all had fried fish with french fries.  We were all licking our fingers and clearing our plates.

Back to the water until it was time to leave.  We all wanted the day to last forever, but reality pulled us back home.  Time to pack up our things and call it a day.  We had an amazing family Sunday at Iguanas – wonder what will be our next Sunday adventure?!

Gosh that was reasonable…the water park we go to is about US$28.00 for 2 adults and 1 kid…Brazil isn’t the cheap country people imagine, though cheaper than Europe.
I’m enjoying looking at another part of the Americas, cheers.

Totally reasonable. I bet that would be a good place to practice snorkeling for Roatan!

Yes snorkeling! Can’t wait to do that. The girls are so excited. Plus they really are getting better at swimming.
