Y-is-for-Yamaha: Transportation that helps save money. A moto lasts longer running errands on the lempiras that we put in the gas tank. Gas is like gold and we have to make that gold last as long as possible.
A gallon of gas costs about Lps 112. That is equivalent to roughly $5.41 in a country where minimum wage is suppose to be $265 a month – if your lucky for it to be enforced. This makes having a 4 wheeler or a motorcycle very useful.
We saved our pennies and were able to purchase our Yamaha moto about 2 ½ years ago. I still don’t like driving it. I have a harder time with the steering. My husband uses is so much more. For work he is always running errands and gas adds up.
The girls like to take a spin with their father on the Yamaha. However we have to be careful. Driving can be crazy. Many times you have trucks or cars that don’t pay attention to motos on the street. Sometimes you have crazy moto drivers who pull out in front of you with no cares in the world.
Our Yamaha helps us save money for sure. When we both have errands I take the truck and he will use the 4 wheeler. There is no space in our parking area to have two vehicles. Plus we could never afford to buy another or the gas that goes with it.
When I can I try to walk as well. Walking around town is great exercise. When supplies aren’t too heavy I use my feet to bring them home.
