J-is-for-Jamaica: otherwise known as the Hibiscus flower and commonly referred to as Roselle. This wonderful flower is a great way to drink as hot or cold tea!

I-is-for-Iguanas: The water park not the lizard. This past Sunday we spent the day at the pool. The sun was shining and the water inviting! Plus the food was amazing – I love fish! It was a day well spent.
H-is-for-Hamaca Style! Most people when they hear the word hammock they first think of the beach. Sand at your feet, ocean in view, and maybe even a nice breeze – just the right setting to rock yourself to sleep.
G-is-for-Guava: A power house fruit. I had never heard of a guava before my move out of the USA. However this smaller, round or oval shaped fruit is very common in Honduras.
F-is-for-Fibromyalgia – what? Yes, a long word that I usually shorten to Fibro. As my doctor stated, “The good thing is it won’t kill you. The down side is it hurts like heck.”
E-is-for-Escuela: “School in another country,” they all said. Yep, that was exactly the plan. After moving to Honduras my daughters had to be enrolled in the escuela. Luckily the school that they attend is only a 5 minute walk from our house. I love it!
D-is-for Don & Doña: What to call your in-laws? When I got married this is the exact question I asked my husband. As I was entering a very different culture he kindly said, “If it were me I would use Don & Doña.”
Hola all the way from Honduras! I am glad to be participating, for the first time, in The Ultimate Blog Party 2014 (April 4th -11th). I hear it’s a blast – so let’s have fun!
C-is-for Copán: Located in the northwestern part of Honduras. It is one of the 18 departments (like states in the USA) that make up this small country. The Department & City of Ruins share the border with Guatemala and is known for Archaeological Mayan history.
B-is-for-Baleada: Did someone say baleadas? Oh yes, my daughters are right there for this Honduran food! In fact my youngest will choose a baleada (or 2) over devouring a hamburger. The great part – they are fast and simple.
